Meet Dr. Mark Nadeau

My favorite part of the job is giving people the chance to feel better about themselves by straightening their teeth through orthodontic treatment. I love seeing my patients and the unique challenges they bring each day. When someone chooses our team for their orthodontic treatment, we are very happy for them and proud. When a patient looks at their smile in the mirror for the first time after your orthodontic treatment is done, it makes the whole experience worth it. Every smile I create is unique to the person’s personality traits and orthodontic needs.

As a child, I spent most of my time on a cattle farm in the Catskill Mountains, I learned how to milk cows. I’ve lived in Kennebunkport with my family since 2001. There always seems to be a project I’m working on with my father or brother. Outside, I love to spend time with my family. I also love to go on trips. It may sound crazy, but I have swum in the Amazon River and hiked the Inca trail at Machu Picchu, two places I have never been. When I was in dental school, I organized a trip to Peru to give dental care to people living near the Amazon River. Afterward, we went to the Andes Mountains in Peru to visit Machu Picchu, an ancient city that was built in the 1400s.

I approach every patient as an opportunity to create a truly unique and amazing smile that betters the life of the patient in many aspects. I believe that your smile is one of the most important ways in which you communicate with the world. I get to know each patient, their expectations, and their motivations for seeking orthodontic treatment.  At my office, you are a valuable individual, not a number.

I am truly passionate about the work I do and am grateful for the opportunity to create spectacular smiles every day. I enjoy working with patients of all ages ranging from children to teens and adults. My favorite treatments include clear aligners, traditional metal braces, and clear braces. There really is no one-size-fits-all approach. Each patient receives different benefits from each type of treatment.

My undergraduate studies at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, were focused on Biomechanical Engineering, but I knew I wanted to make a direct and good effect in people’s lives. I acquired a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Connecticut and a Master of Science in Orthodontics from the State University of New York at Buffalo. My schooling equipped me with the information and skills necessary to deliver the finest treatment possible to my patients.
