Get to Know Us

Meet Dr. Mark Nadeau

I grew up in New York's Catskill Mountains, where I spent most of my time on a cattle farm. During the summer, I would visit my grandparents in Maine. I am fortunate I had the chance to grow up close to nature, milking cows and racing dirt bikes in New York, and fishing and skimboarding in Maine!

In 2001, I moved with my family to Kennebunkport. I feel grateful I have the chance to spend time with them (there always seems to be a home project that I'm working on with my father or brother) and always look forward to weekends on the lake. I also enjoy traveling and discovering new places - when I was in dental school, I organized a trip to Peru to provide dental care to people living near the Amazon River. Afterwards, we went to the Andes Mountains to visit Machu Picchu, an ancient city built in the 1400s, where I also swam in the Amazon River and hiked the Inca Trail.

My Approach

I believe each case represents a new challenge and a unique opportunity to create a smile that stands out among the crowd. I work closely with my patients to chart an individualized path to achieve their cosmetic goals while ensuring function and long-lasting results. For me, clear doctor-patient communication is crucial for success. That's why I take time to get to know each patient, their expectations, and their motivations for seeking orthodontic treatment. At my office, you are a valuable individual, not a number.

I enjoy working with patients of all ages ranging from children and teens to adults. Each group has different desires and expectations, so I offer various orthodontic alternatives, including clear aligners, traditional metal braces, and clear braces. My aim is to find the treatment that genuinely meets your needs.

My Academic & Professional Background

My undergraduate studies at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, were focused on Biomechanical Engineering. Still, even then, I knew I wanted to pursue a career that has a direct impact on people's lives. I obtained my Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Connecticut and a Master of Science in Orthodontics from the State University of New York at Buffalo. My schooling equipped me with the information and skills necessary to deliver the finest treatment possible to my patients. To ensure this, I also enjoy staying on top of the latest evidence-based research in dentistry by participating in multiple dental organizations:

  • Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Connecticut
  • Master of Science Degree in Orthodontics from State University of New York
  • Member of the American Association of Orthodontists
  • Member of the Seattle Study Club

Meet the Team

Lisa

Scheduling Coordinator

As a scheduling coordinator, I ensure that our patient’s appointments run smoothly. I always try to accommodate our patients’ busy lives with the best time and date available within our schedule. My husband Art and I enjoy lake life and have two adult daughters, Kristen and Lindsay. We also have two granddaughters that we love to spoil, but I am looking forward to the day when there are more! In my spare time, I enjoy relaxing on the lake and tending to my garden. Trouble with your tomatoes? Talk to me!

Christie

Financial Coordinator

My objective is to ensure that all of your treatment-related concerns are addressed, enabling you to make an educated choice about orthodontic therapy. I also look for ways to make your treatment as affordable as possible. My husband, Carlton, and I have two adult boys, Dustin and Dakota. I am an avid hockey fan (Go Bruins!), which my decade-plus have reinforced as a committed Hockey Aunt to my eldest nephew. As he often said, "Aunt Christie is the greatest at tying my skates!" Additionally, I love traveling, cooking, and baking, as well as spending time with family, friends, and their children.

Robyn

Clinical Assistant

As one of Dr. Nadeau's assistants, I help with all aspects of patient care from taking impressions, intra-oral scans and X-rays to changing wires and teaching proper oral hygiene. I enjoy the variety that each day brings and the interesting patients that share their beautiful smiles with us. My husband Paul and I have two daughters, Olivia and Ivy. In my free time, I enjoy travel, hiking, gardening, cooking, and vacations to visit family in England!

Meg

Clinical Assistant

I previously worked as an assistant in a pediatric practice for many years, and I am thrilled to be a part of the Nadeau Ortho family and to be able to use my orthodontic training to assist you with your smile! I am a new dog mom and love snuggling with her, but her big horse brother is annoyed he has to share his mom. Teaching therapeutic horseback riding lessons in my leisure time is something I really like doing. I also like to craft, read a good book on my front porch while drinking a cup of coffee and spend time with friends and family.

Michele

Clinical Assistant

As a clinical assistant, I help Dr. Nadeau with every aspect of the patient’s treatment from taking X-rays to bringing them back to the office chair. I love my job and the reward of seeing each patient transform into a healthier, happier, and more confident individual. My husband Tom and I have two kids, Jack and Sara. I am an avid nature lover, and when I’m not heading to a sporting event with the kids, I enjoy hiking the mountain trails all over Maine and New Hampshire with my dog Wilson.
